Default Character and Hero Armour

Hi All

Only been playing Guildwars for a few weeks, just completed Nightfall and EOTN on Normal mode, 3/4 the way through Prophicies and havent started Factions as of yet, so far I have only used H/H groups.

I know that Elite armour for Heros can be obtained from Challenge and Elite missions but I have heard that these mission only allow Heroes and no Henchmen, is it possible to do these missions with heroes only?

Also Elite armour for Characters, is this also from missions or from armour crafters after completing a specific campaign, for example access to the Throne of Secrets after completing Nightfall gives you access to the Primeval armour crafter, not that I can afford this armour and will take me a long time to get the money for it .

Cheers

Elite armor (for players) comes from crafters, like all other player armor (except that you can't get elite player armor from collectors).

The challenge missions that get you hero armor don't restrict you to only heroes, though there's the solo one in the desolation. Maybe you were told of the Domain of Anguish, where there are no henchmen (and so you can't travel with them), but heroes are available as normal.

PS: Elite armor isn't better than normal 1k armor, it just looks better.

That's subject to debate. But the reason most people are opting for elite armour these days is to display it in the Hall of Monuments.

Here is the links to the armor part of your question. As for the pieces of armor need to get hero armor. They come from different areas in, NF and EotN.

NF has Stolen Sunspear Armor that comes from Dajkah Inlet Challenge Mission. It does not drop, but instead appears in players' inventories at random as a reward after killing a Corsair Guild Lord.

The chance is per individual player, so killing a single Guild Lord may result in more than one player receiving the item.

Heros that can take use this upgrade. To apply the armor you need to visit the NPC Bahldasareh in Dajkah Inlet.

* Koss
* Dunkoro
* Melonni
* Acolyte Jin
* Acolyte Sousuke

That mission I've done with Heros and Hench just like fighting countless Corsairs thru the storyline of Nightfall.

Ancient Armor Remnants can only be obtained in the Remains of Sahlahja Challenge Mission. It does not drop, but instead appears in players' inventories at random as a reward after killing a Lost Soul or Maddened Spirit.

You will not receive Ancient Armor Remnants for every Lost Soul or Maddened Spirit you kill. They are randomly given to the player.

Heros that can be upgraded with Ancient. To apply the armor, you need to visit the NPC Johe in Remains of Sahlahja.

* Tahlkora
* Zhed Shadowhoof
* Margrid the Sly
* Master of Whispers
* Razah

This one is a bit of pain because it is a solo challenge mission.

Primeval Armor Remnants can be obtained in the Domain of Anguish and during The Ebony Citadel of Mallyx mission. This item does not drop, but instead appears in players' inventories at random whenever a Domain of Anguish chest is opened or one of the Lords of Anguish is defeated. Furthermore, when Mallyx the Unyielding is defeated a chest spawns which contains one Primeval Armor Remnant for each party member. One Primeval Armor Remnant can also be obtained randomly from a Coffer of Whispers.

Heros: Koss, Dunkoro, Melonni, Acolyte Jin, Acolyte Sousuke, Tahlkora, Zhed Shadowhoof, Margrid the Sly, Master of Whispers, Norgu, Goren, General Morgahn, Zenmai, Olias, and Razah. To apply the armor you need to visit the NPC Armorsmith of Whispers in Gate of Anguish.

These might be one of the hardest ones to get thru the normal ways because its hard to find a good pug for this elite mission. But thank god that ursan is gone because it was making the worst of players able to finish it.

Now for EotN:

One Deldrimor Armor Remnant can be acquired from the Hierophant's Chest, which spawns upon defeating Duncan the Black as part of the quest The Last Hierophant.

Heros:
* Vekk
* Ogden Stonehealer
* Jora
* Pyre Fierceshot
* Kahmu
* Gwen
* Xandra
* Livia
* Hayda
* Anton

To apply a Deldrimor Armor Remnant, you need to visit the NPC Gunnar Poundfist in Gunnar's Hold.

Cloths of the Brotherhood drop only from the Chests of the Brotherhood spawned after winning the Glint's Challenge mission. It's a guaranteed drop from the chest.
Heros: All GW:EN heroes may have their armor upgraded.
Talk to Master Armorer Kor in the Central Transfer Chamber to apply a Cloth to a hero's entire armor.

Hope this helps Nos.

It's from armour crafters, but you don't have to complete the campaign to get a set. (Primeval is the endgame set, for your information). Asura, Norn and Vanguard armour sets are all considered elite and can be crafted once you hit r5 in the specific rank. As for NF, there's quite a few sets that can be crafted before you hit endgame - Elite Sunspear, Vabbian, and Ancient.

You can get elete armor for you r character from several different places in all of the campaigns. You do not have to complete a campaign first for most of them.
